You may want to try to run TechTool and its DataRacovery-thing. Another
possibility is running DiskWarrior and rebuilding your directory. Both these
options are best done (maybe even only possible) if you boot from another
drive (or CD) than the one you need to work on.
I had a similar problem - actually worse, since my entire disk was gone and
my machine kept asking me to reformat it - and it turned out it was because
of a bad Signature-file (however that happened). Threw that out, E'rage
created a new one and I was back in business.
