I don't have it in front of me, and I'm not sure whether I'm remembering
Outlook, Outlook Express, Outlook for Workgroups, Outlook 97, Outlook 98, or
Outlook 2000...but at least some of them makes the preferred format a "per
recipient" attribute in the address book.  Most of the others have an
option, but some versions of Outlook 97 are particularly tricky.

I will certainly agree that it's well hidden.
