now that all of this is clear, please developers, don't do anything to slow
down the fast find functions: rage is already too slow on many machines, and
getting the answer quickly is important.
a good rearchitecturing job would be to get a decent sql engine underneath
the whole dbase and index all of these fields with a low priority index.
Then finds can be lightning fast and super comprehensive.
