that's no big thing. All you have to do is to delete the old one.

However, you might want to keep all the words you have accumulated in the
old one so what I did was to:
1) open the Custom Dictionary in Word (Preferences->Spelling & Grammar)
2) save the file as a normal text document under another name (e.g.
CustDictOld) 
3) close Word
4) delete the Custom Dictionary
5) open Word and a new Custom Dictionary will be generated
6) open the file with all your exceptions and paste them into the new Custom
Dictionary (I used the opportunity to get rid of all the words that was in
there by mistake)

BTW: it is my experience that spell checking as a whole is very poorly
implemented in Office2001 (at least when you're using the US-version on a
foreign (Danish) system as I do). It is very often causing slow downs and
for one thing the scrolling function of my IntelliMouse is practically
non-working in Office2001 if working with larger documents with automatic
spell checking on (works without a glitch in WordPerfect (also US-version)
with automatic spell checking on).
