"From" filter doesn't look in email address?

Howdy!

  Question.  Let's say somebody's email address looks like this in a
message:

    Mike Kobb <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

  If I go to the filter line and type "alum", the message doesn't show up.
But, if the address field only contains the email address, then it works.

  Is there any way to get this filter to look at the email addresses as well
as the name?
