If what Allen says is correct, then I think it could possibly be fixed
without a total and complex re-write.  If the display code were changed to
display name and email in the "From" field, then the filter code might not
need to be changed at all.

In any event, I would agree with Alan Houtzer: it should be fixed, since
it's basically of questionable utility as it is.
