Well then, it needs a total and quick re-write of how it works!

I have wondered why this filter was so unreliable. It seemed to only work
some of the time, or on some messages. In other words, it could not be
relied upon to produce the desired results. Now I know that I must
completely ignore the quick filter, and always use Advanced Find.

You cannot expect your users to know how an e-Mail address was formatted
when it was sent. Just a few days ago, I was looking for all mail sent to
me by people from 3M Corp. I used the quick filter to search for mmm.com .
It turned up some of the messages, but not others. I didn't know why -- now
do. I cannot rely on the quick filter.

Please fix this.

By the way:
Microsoft seems to be uncertain about whether to bring Entourage to MacOS
X. When we hear from MS on the new Office 10 for MacOS X, Entourage is not
mentioned. I've seen MacOS X Mail and Address Book. These two do NOT
replace Entourage. If MS is trying to integrate with MacOS X's included
facilities, that is a great direction to take, but please use the 'Embrace
and *Extend*' philosophy! Push Apple to let you extend the address book and
Mail (I want the 'Redirect' function, among other things!!!), so we don't
lose the recently-introduced integration that Entourage gives Office. This
is a great product, with some warts like any software, but definitely worth
keeping.
