I like how on the day that Apple announces it is charging full price for its
OS upgrade, and canning the iTools service used to sell OS9 and OSX, this
somehow becomes a screw MS fest :-)
Anyhow: According to Jud, the e'rage database is no longer proprietary
except in the uninteresting sense that we don't know its internal storage
mechanisms. MS are synching to Palm via an open API, which third parties are
free (not sure if this is free $, or free to license) to use.
Of course the database always had AppleScript access, which is very handy.
I look at this as follows: I have no idea what format MySQL stores my data
in, but I know I can access it with SQL: so my information it free to move
to which ever DBMS I like.
Now, if Entourage supported SQL access to its database, maybe with a JDBC
plugin - that would rock!!
