Apple understands that it can only sell the OS if their are _bundled_ apps (Where have we seen that before?) Apple knows that Office V for a Mac users is too expensive so Apple needs to add value to the OS by bundling the same functionality.
IMHO: Apple is less dependent on MS, at least with their current vision and given the choice Apple doesn't want to do MS any favours. This will probably hurt Apple in the long run when MS further developer IE. Which IMHO, Apple still needs MS for. The strategy of marketing MAC OS with Office V to provide the same or better functionality than a PC has not worked for Apple. The reasons are irrelevant but the only way forward is for Apple to take control over the functionality their OS provides and not be so reliant on MS. Apple should start developing their own Web Browser or license another vendors.
