NEW EMAIL: Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my email and help me. I'm in a dire situation:
Scenario: --------------------------------------------------------- Macintosh OSX 10.2.6 Entourage X (I will discuss version later in this email) Entourage won't open and database can't be rebuilt. All ideas I have found on the web sites have not yet worked. Database over 2GB. --------------------------------------------------------- Detail of what happened: I couldn't receive email from an account the other day. So I quit Entourage and restarted it. It wouldn't open and told me to rebuild my database. I said ok and it suggested "typical rebuild". I said yes and that immediately failed (error 4361). It asked if I wanted to do "advanced rebuild". I said yes and that immediately failed (error 4361). Message said that my database was most likely not fixable. I went to file system and noticed the size is 2.02 GB. I removed the Microsoft preferences and com.Microsoft.*.plist files from the preferences folder. Still nothing worked. I reinstalled MS Office. That didn't work. I applied both the 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 updates. (I DON'T KNOW IF I ORIGINALLY HAD THESE UPDATES INSTALLED WHEN THE PROBLEMS STARTED HAPPENING - IN OTHER WORDS, I'M NOT SURE WHAT VERSION OF OFFICE I HAD WHEN THE PROBLEM HAPPENNED). Still not working. I've read that Entourage 2001 has a 2GB limit and Entourage X has a 4GB limit. But it seems weird that this happened right about when my database got over 2GB. Please help.
