Yes, I am looking at the directory you describe below.

Unfortunately there was no Old Database or Old Database 1 that was created
when the rebuild attempts failed.

The only Old Database is one that is from a rebuild I did 60 days ago. I did
rename that to "Database" and the old one successfully rebuilt and I'm back
up. BUT I've lost 60 days of work. I'd REALLY like to get the database that
won't rebuild to rebuild properly... But there is no database there as you
mentioned might be.

When the rebuild fails, it fails immediately (less than a second between the
time I agree to rebuild and the error appears). But it creates no "Old
Database" when it does this...

Please advise... I know we can  beat this somehow...
