** Entourage 10.1.4 on OSX 10.2.6 I have a 2.5 GB database file that suddenly became unreadable by Entourage. It offered the option to typical rebuild, but that failed with a "not enough disk space" error.
In fact, my experience almost mirrors exactly Bernhard Pieber's experience in his Aug 2, 2003 post. So, rather than repeat my trials and tribulations, please just reference his post here: http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg10610.html The thing that keeps happening is that Entourage "compresses" the DB to 3.99 GB. I can watch the rebuilt DB file grow in size during a typical rebuild to 3.99 GB. It seems like when the DB file reaches 3.99 GB the rebuild will fail. An advanced rebuild will process the DB and gave me a success message, but the DB will be 3.99 GB. When Entourage tries to open the rebuilt (and compressed?) DB, it will error with the "4 GB, must perform a typical rebuild" message. The typical will fail then. BTW, the rebuilds have been performed on copies of the original DB. In Diane Ross' response to the referenced post above, she states, "I can see if MS wants to look at your database if you would be interested in sending it. Let me know." Well, I don't know what else to do to get this DB to work. So, I'd like to know if it is possible to have MS look at the DB file so it can be saved? All suggestions are welcomed. Thank you in advance. ---------------------------- Lance -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
