You don't appear to have tried an Advanced Rebuild, have you? Typical rebuild is milk toast - it's really just for fixing lists that are out of every, and such like. When you have real corruption, you can just go straight to Advanced Rebuild. With Entourage 10.1.4, there should not be any problem with a 2.5 GB database, as long as you have at least 2.5 GB space on the same hard disk.
