OK, so I turned off the sub-setting "allow network access..." in E'rage X just to see what it might do to my email. Of course, the first message that seemed to be affected was from Apple Computer, welcoming me to iTunes.  

I think I will allow network access, and very aggressively continue to  filter the junk mails that would be the most likely problems while allowing network access. At present, with the junk mail filter turned to its highest setting and with the use of the junk mail rules that have been suggested on this list from time to time, less than 1% of all junk messages still make it through. There are somewhat more false positives, and I regularly add new domains to the junk mail filter or new addresses or rules to account for these.
