Target mode is when you hook up a PowerBook via firewire to another Mac and
use a particular command keystroke to put it into Target mode, such that the
internal hard drive of that Powerbook becomes the boot drive of the other

CCC is Carbon Copy Cloner, a wonderful little gui app that clones an entire
drive from one place to another. See
