Ok, 4th time this happened, I thought I would mention it, since it is the
norm for non tech users coming from OS 9, at least that is my observation.

Clean install of Office 2004, for 6 clients in total, 4 of them called me
with E-rage problems of some sort or another. In all 4 cases, the users,
long time mac users, but still, not of the caliber of the people on this
list, but perhaps a good representation of a general user, have moved the MS
User Data folder somewhere else. I can see why, they don't like it there, I
personally don't like it there either, I want to put it somewhere else. And
the "alias" is still going to leave a folder there they do not want to see.
Mac users seem to want to organize their stuff how they want to organize
their stuff, I think this is the way it should be anyway. My personal
opinion.

Moving that folder starts E-rage clean and new, and is confusing, some will
go as far as to set up a new account, then check email. Imagine trying to
fix this over the phone, having them drag the messages to a folder on the
desktop, restoring the old data folder, dragging the new messages back in.
it is not that hard to do onsite, but over the phone it is trying.

In the future, I may go as far as to alias it to ~/Library and make the
alias invisible, if that will in fact work, I am not sure.

I would like to offer a suggestion, one that I learned about from LetterRip
Pro, made by Jud Spencer whom I *think* works on e-rage. He made the
LetterRip files locateable in more than one location. So with E-rage,
perhaps make the User Data folder allowed to live in ~/Library/Application\
Support/Microsoft/. I could then config a user account and have this user
data folder somewhere that they won't "see" it.
