I don't know about "usual", but I have been told that several Fortune 100
companies are moving away from Domino servers and the reason I was told was
the client is/was "un-friendly" to the end user. I got this second hand so
it may not be entirely correct. I have seen conversations between mail
administrators that generally denigrate Domino servers whine about Exchange
moderately and generally say the *nix mail servers are more "adaptable".
YMMV

That's interesting. Is it normal for an office to use a Lotus Domino server
- presumably for internal mail - but also allow you to use your own client
like Entourage, rather than whatever they supply to you, to send and receive
email? And what exactly broke in 2004?

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions
otherwise.
