There is nothing special about those mail folders - Eudora used to carry the index for In, Out & sent in memory, so could get sluggish if those mailboxes held _thousands_ of mails, not hundreds. There's no reason why entourage can't carry thousands of mails in those boxes. Currently I have about 1500 messages in those three folders. > > Leave the option to remember the password in the keychain checked. > > Try turning off the send/receive schedules as that cuases indexing above and > beyond the minute check when using exchange. > > SP2 supposedly fixes a ton of sync issues. > > The answer seems to be that when doing a great deal of syncing and there are > a ton of emails in those folders, Entourage starts to get sluggish in it's > response to the exchange server and causes the server to drop the > connection. Which may be true (pre SP2), but has nothing to do with the fact that entourage is unable to access the password stored in the keychain. > > Hope that helps. I doubt it, but thanks for contributing anyway. While I disagree strongly with the info you got form MS Tech Support, that's not your fault - it's theirs. I hope you get better service next time. > > -Mike > > > On 10/10/05 10:43 AM, "Perbix, Michael" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >> We use Entourage (pre SP2) and some teachers are now seeing an error message >> >> "Mail could not be received at this time. >> >> The server for account XXXXX returned the error "Logon Failure: unknown user >> name or bad password."
