As suggested by someone here, I did a little testing and confirmed that the slowdown in accessing contextual menus in Ent 2004 is caused by Chronos Sticky Brain. I am using v 4.0.6 and have sent them a note to this effect.
The slowdown only occurs the very first time I access Contextual Menus in Entourage. Second and subsequent CM requests pop up immediately. I disabled the Chronos CM and logged and/in and the problem went away. I re-enabled it, logged out/in and the problem returned.
