It's not actually infuriating. You can still move the Microsoft User Data folder, or any subfolder, anywhere you want, as long as you make an alias to it in the correct location.
So if your friend is trying to conserve main hard disk space and wants to move his MUD folder to an external hard drive, he can do so. (Note: dragging items to another disk doesn't actually move them it just copies them. You have to follow up by deleting the original. Your friend must have done that too. he wouldn't get the benefit of any hard disk space saved unless he then followed through and emptied the Trash. So that should not be an issue either: he's want to do that anyway if he's trying to save space.) THEN: hold down Command (Apple) and Option keys and drag the moved folder back to its original location in ~/Documents. Entourage will be happy to find it there and will behave as if the original is there **AS LONG AS THE EXTERNAL DISK IS CONNECTED AND MOUNTED**. Otherwise, it will make a new MUD with an empty Main Identity. So this is only worth doing if the external drive is always going to be mounted. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP MacOffice Entourage FAQ Page: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/index.html> AppleScripts for Entourage: <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using - 2004, X or 2001.
