The “suggestion” list is actually called the Most Recently Used (MRU) list. It should contain every address in your Address Book plus other addresses you have sent mail to that are not necessarily in your AB. It is dynamic: IOW, it changes all the time, picking up new addresses you send to or that you add to the AB, and re-ordering the list according to which addresses you use the most often.
The real issue for you is not the MRU but the Address Book! The MRU can always rebuild itself but the fact that you’re missing data from the AB is disturbing.
If you’re worried about what might happen when you do a rebuild, just make another database backup right before you do the rebuild. If you don’t like the results of the rebuild, you can restore the database to its pre-rebuild state. You’ll find more about the MRU if you look around that site I sent you to before.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I have a backup - however I am very afraid and very careful. i am constantly in fear that I maye loose what I have if i do anything with Entourage. How will I know if a rebuild will leave me with the new small address book and nothing inb the suggestion list?
