I can definitively say that it neither prioritizes by last name or by lower
ID - I have two contacts in my address book: the first, transferred from
Claris Emailer to Outlook to Entourage, is Vincent Jericho.  The other
contact was added about a year ago and is Jerry Vincent.  Both are in the
"Staff" category.  It ALWAYS picks Jerry Vincent before Vincent Jericho (If
I'm too lazy to arrow down I have to type 10 letters before getting the
right person!), meaning that it's neither prioritizing for oldest nor by
last name.   Perhaps by newest or by first name.

And yes, I added a nickname but I frequently forget to use it, since neither
of them go by a nickname.
