Because I have continuing time out periods with Entourage 2001 (It's
running under Classic), I've tried using other email programs to see
if the time outs continue with those -- Earthlink has told me before
that it was a problem with Entourage and not with Earthlink. But I've
tried Mac Mail and Thunderbird during the timed out periods and
neither of them works, either. Mac Mail will send during those times
but not receive and Thunderbird does neither.
Soooooo last night I opened Outlook Express which I found on my
computer (a 5.something version) and decided I'd see if that would
work. I can't remember exactly what happened, but I stopped fiddling
with it after a few minutes and never found out if it worked.
Then earlier today I read and sent email in Entourage and while on
the computer, tossed a bunch of stuff into the trash that was on my
desktop, but nothing from folders or from anywhere else. About an
hour ago, I went to open Entourage after having to re-start the
computer and there's NOTHING in Entourage and it gave me the Welcome
to Entourage bit, asking me to enter all my info as if I'd never used
it -- and there's no address book, nothing in my in-box, nothing
anywhere!!!!!!! Fortunately, I have some emails and addresses in Mac
Mail (but never changed all the info over), and just found the
Entourage list address.
Do you have a solution to my getting my Entourage stuff back? I have
a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE amt of names in my address book and cannot imagine
not being able to find them again.
