But think about how much overhead you're adding to Entourage and the Mac.
An 8 gig database file sounds dangerous to me.

If you have an 8 gig Entourage DB, it sounds like you must have a lot of big
attachments still attached to the original emails.  Why not remove them,
place them in in proper folders, and then have a slimmer Entourage DB?
