A several-minute freeze upon checking mail, though not common, has been reported to this list previously by several folks, including me. I remember my solution and I think that is was Diane Ross that had a different solution. My freeze was intermittent. It would be nice to know if yours is intermittent or if it occurs every time (although I don't know if I would suggest any thing different in the two scenarios).
