"About identities
An identity stores a person's preferences, [account] settings, Project
Center information, Address Book and Calendar information, schedules, tasks,
messages, and more. An identity can also store personal information, such as
a person's e-mail and street address, once this information has been entered
as a contact and the contact has been marked as [This contact is Me.] You
can tell at a glance which contact contains an identity's personal
information because the Contact is Me symbol Contact is Me symbol appears
next to the contact in the Address Book."
