Rather than harangue you with more about this issue, I have posted a somewhat 
more favorable review of the US Forest Service plan on my new blog:  
http://nature-web-network.blogspot.com/  Essentially I argue that the idea to 
thin the forests to prevent a more devastating fire is a valid one, and 
something that needs  to be done, but, in my opinion, they still need to 
address how to minimize the impacts of the operation on the existing breeding 
populations of northern goshawks before the plan is implemented.   Thank you
