Bob,
Just a point of clarification. Are you referring to the Elan
IIe's evaluative metering or all of the metering modes? I
switched to using partial metering (from evaluative) with my Elan
IIe about a year after I got the camera and certainly felt it
improved my exposures if there was even a hint of back lighting
in the frame.
