Yes, any added extension will give a larger magnification. You can also use
extenders to give a larger image size. With my 100mm USM macro I can get
about 2x life size by adding the Canon 1.4x extender to the camera and a
36mm extension tube between the extender and lens. This combo still gives a
very sharp image (at least at f11 and f16, where I always work).
