For a working sports shooter I'd recomend at
least the EOS 1N/RS or newer for AI-Servo focus speed and film advance
speed. For most anyone else buying an EOS body right now I'd recomend the
EOS 5/A2 as this is one of the best deals out there especially if you are

Why receommend an old body like the A2 when the Elan 7e is available and
runs circles around the EOS5/A2?
As to the EOS1n, agreed but I would recommend the EOS3 with PB-E2 (providing
you can live without a 100% viewfinder) which has faster AF than the 1N and
about the same price these days as a used EOS1N.
If you really need 10fps get the 1V with PB-E2. Fastest AF and tracking on
the market.
