Hi, I dont' know the HP, but take a look on Microtek's ArtixScan, I
think there is one multiformat, and other specific for 35mm model.
For high quality, the specs of the new Nikons, to be released in march,
or april, are VERY impressive, same of US$ 40K scanners. Check it on Dpreview.com
For price/benefit, Pacific Image's Prime Film 1800C, US$ 200 or under,
are fair.
35mm at 1800dpis let's you enlarge to 18x12cm at 300dpi. But I just
can't find what is the Dmax of this scanner.
Hope this helps.
