I think the 00 (along with 1A, 2A, etc) are for use
with half frame cameras, which shoot double the normal
number of 18 by 24mm frames. At one time these were
quite popular, especially in Japan. Now don't ask me
why the didn't label the first half-fram 0A, instead
of 00.
