The two versions are USM and non-USM. The non-USM version is discontinued (at
least over here, in Belgium). Maybe it's still in stock at B&H.

The USM version is Full Time Manual (FTM) and a quick silent beauty when
focusing.  I tried once the non-USM version on a stand and I'd never go for it
after 'tasting' the USM flavor.

Once you're baby starts to crawl and walk/run you'll be happy of owning the
USM  ;-)
