Yes, protecting the camera is still something one doesn't want to forget.
I just put it in the camera bag... which after a few changes (lens,
camera, film ... what ever) in very cold gets quite cold inside too. After
I come in from extreme low temperatures I keep the camera bag closed for a
long time.

Well, yes... I was thinking that this could happen when you put the camera
again inside your coat after shooting for a while (thus getting the camera
cold). But I don't think there are any rules here. One must do what seems
the best for them. After all Canon probably doesn't want us using the EOS
cameras in such conditions anyways.
I've used both my EOS 50e and now the EOS 3 in very cold conditions (less
then -20...-25 degrees Celsius) but admitedly not for longer than 2-3
hours. But so far I've never had any other problems - except running out
of batteries. BTW, the anti-fog eyepiece is great and really works.
