Yes I have an Elan 7.  Sorry I forgot to mention that.  Interesting,
now I want to find out what happens if you hit the midroll rewind -
when the CF is set to leave a leader - right *after* it finishes
rewinding.  I assume the toggle function is *during* rewind.  I had
opened the back and shut it again and the camera had repositioned the
film on doing so.  I assumed this was what caused midroll rewind to
finish reeling it in, but maybe not.   Next time I'll try hitting the
button right after rewinding to the leader without opening it.
