Hi Alex and Ken,
Alex is right. After a normal rewind with CF2=1, my Elan 7E
Date will not rewind leader into the cartridge even if I push
the Midroll Rewind button.
Ken is also right. If you open, then close the back immediately,
the film will fail to load. Pushing the Rewind button *will*
then cause the leader to be rewound into the cartridge.
