Hello Pierre,
If P mode decides not to use High-Speed sync, it seem that you cannot
use the wheel to force high-speed.
However, you CAN get P mode to suggest High-Speed Sync, but only if the
metered light level is bright enough for the film sensitivity.
So, you can try this by setting ISO 6400 (afterwards, don't forget to
set it back to the correct value for your film).
I have only tried this for the Elan 7E and 550EX.
Does it work for your 420EX?
