Why not a 70-200 plus a 2.0x extender? that´s 140-400 5.6.
That´s the combo i just bought yesterday, won´t that do?

How about getting the 300 f/4L IS and the 1.4 TC instead of the 100-400 IS?

What is the quality (sharpness and contrast) of the 300 f/4L IS Lens?

Photodo and Photozone rate it highly, but Chasseur d'Images found it to be
so-so...
