Hello, my name is Nick, and I'm an EOSaholic. I had experiences with
other cameras, but in early 1987 a salesperson at Shutter Bug Photo in
Mission Viejo, California handed me a sleek, new, autofocus camera, an
EOS 620! It was love at first sight! For the next couple of weeks I
lurked in some (many? most??) of the Los Angeles area camera stores,
fondling every make and model of the new autofocus cameras ... but I
was always drawn back to that beautiful EOS 620, and it wasn't long
before I traded and imprint of my Amex card for a shiny new 620 and
a 50mm f/1.8. Then it was a 28mm f/2.8 and then a 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5.
After buying the 100-300mm f/5.6 I just had to have a second body, and
by now the EOS 630 had hit the shelves of the stores. Later it was
the EOS 1 ... but I was NOT addicted ... each purchase was thoughtful
and based on NEED. While visiting a foreign county (left unnamed so
as not to embarrass any Canadians on the list) the 630 and 35-105 was
stolen out of our car ... but was replaced by the insurance company.
When my sons' interest in photography outgrew their point and shoots,
an order to KEH got them each an EOS 620 with the trusty 35-105! All
was well in our household until the EOS D30 fell off the UPS truck and
landed on my front deck. It just cried for newer lenses and finally
I gave in and a 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM and a 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
were purchased to keep the D30 happy ... but I'm NOT an addict! Just
today I was browsing the KEH site and my fingers accidentally caused
me to click on a used EOS IX ... but I know that I can control my
urges to trade plastic for EOS ... I know I can, I know I can.
