Hello all,

thank you very much for all of the advice and suggestions. I'll take a look
at the EOS5 and the EOS D30 then, in that case. I'm a bit wary about the
size of the EOS5, although I am sure that it is a great camera for the
money!

Tom, I don't think there's anything wrong with admitting to owning an IX,
although the IX7 is probably seen as even less of a "serious" camera to
1V-owners! I just think that if the shoe fits, wear it, and I'm sure that
you wouldn't lug the EOS-3 everywhere, just as I wouldn't even take my IX7
everywhere. :) About the focus assist light, I've actually turned mine off
permanently as I usually take the flash unit along when I know I'm going to
shoot in the dark. I presume you're talking about the same one that is also
used for red-eye reduction?

Anyway, I'll keep looking for a good price on the 28-135 IS although I can
imagine filters for that getting VERY expensive. Once again, thanks!

Y-W
