Hi Bob,
    I realize now that the original poster was talking about the 'focus
range', or the movement of the focus ring on the lens. I believe he was
right, in that moving the wide angle slightly off the mount, or using a thin
extension tube would change the focus drastically, since such a small focus
ring movement changes focus so much. In other words, I think a 12mm tube
will put the focus to extememely short range, and DOF will also suffer. It
just isn't an option at this short focal length I believe.
