Outcome :

I purchased an OCSC2 at the weekend and I can now fit the 550EX onto the 
flash bracket. I can now also maintain E-TTL, I did wonder about this in 
December 2000 as I was only seeing TTL in the 550EX during our stock-take 
weekend.
