I find this very extrange. The flash-end block of the OCSC2 does has a groove
to be mounted on a standard hotshoe, or at least mine does. Additionally, it
has a tripod socket that allows to mount the flash on a tripod (what else
would be the tripod socket for ?? :-)

I just wish that the block that mounts ON THE CAMERA had a "cold" hot-shoe on
it so you could eventually use the flash on-camera without having to unscrew
the OCSC2.  That would be great when using a hand & arm  flash bracket for
maximum flexibility  and the 'bracket' needs a rest.
