Some personal measurements ...


The old Canon macro:  my best estimate for F at 1:1 was 73mm.

At 1:1
distance to film plane approx 307mm
working distance (to front of lens) approx 112mm (4.5 inches)

and no, the recessed lens means that addtional lens hood were seldom
needed..

More info I have, but it is at work  ....
