Most EOS cameras don't even know what kind of film is loaded. They
would have to read the second line of contacts of the DX code to
know that (exposure latitude). But I agree, it would be a nice idea
to use this kind of information for evaluative metering.

Yes, I know the 1000 series, had a 1000F myself. 3 segments are
of course not very much, so that there aren't many options for
doing much more than CWM. All it could do is ignoring one or two
zones.

No CF4 on the 100 (Ok, of course it has a CF 4, but it doesn't
move AF to the AE-lock button).

Yes. And it has both, center weighted and evaluative metering, which
would be kind of funny if they were one and the same thing.

Typical spec sheet information ;-) Sounds impressive and says nothing.
This could mean everything, either that it is averaging with the center
around the active sensor or something more sophisticated, which is what
I suspect.
