Hi,
to start, I am not a pro and never will be apro, but I lkie to take
pictures. 8x10 or a little bigger are all I plan to have printed.
I am going to Paris for 10 days and London for 10 days with my wife and 2
daughters, thus my suitcase space is very limited and they will tolerate me
taking pictures, but stopping to change lenses all the time won't be
tolerated. I have an Elan 7E and just the kit lens it came with (28-90).
What I want is a single lens that will meet most of my needs and come home
with pictures good enough to justify the film and lens expense, but nothing
to publish.
I've been looking at the Tokina 24-200 and the Tamron 28-200. Both are in
the same price range, but the Tamron is available locally and the Tokina
will have to be ordered. (Either way I'll use my Amex card to pay the lowest
advertised price I can find, so that cost is not a factor.)
I haven't seen many reviews of the Tokina, and the Tamron is getting OK
reviews (which I take to be OK for my purposes).
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Fred
