Hi,

I am going to Paris for 10 days and London for 10 days with my wife and 2
daughters, thus my suitcase space is very limited and they will tolerate me
taking pictures, but stopping to change lenses all the time won't be
tolerated. I have an Elan 7E ... with (28-90).
What I want is a single lens that will meet most of my needs and come home
with pictures good enough to justify the film and lens expense, but nothing
to publish.

I've been looking at the Tokina 24-200 and the Tamron 28-200. Both are in
the same price range, but the Tamron is available locally and the Tokina
will have to be ordered.

Any suggestions?
Thanks
Fred

Fred,

Here is my 2 cents. Tamron 28-200mm. Chances are you will not use very wide
and less chance longer focal lengths.
Tamron makes an excellent lens and this one is considered the best of the
28-200mm lenses. If you use long focal lengths often you may want to
consider the Tamron 28-300mm which is only a 1/3 stop slower at 300mm.

For me the perfect lens is the 28-135mm IS. Its a bit more but sharp and
the IS lets me leave the tripod at home.
