I agree. The quick-release I use is the Really Right Stuff Arca-Swiss-style
clamp, with RRS plates on all my bodies and lens collars. Combine all that
with a Bogen 3232 tilt head on a monopod exactly as described at the end of
the RRS catalog, and it makes a pricey but flexible and super-convenient
monopod system that also works with my tripods (which have Arca-Swiss B1's
on them).
