The shoe is a bit small really - but I guess it has to be if people 
are going to plug it into other shoes.

I notice that both ends of the OSCS2 are held together with screws - 
not been inside it yet, but my guess is it would be easy to replace 
the cable with something straight and longer. Of coure you'd need to 
find suitable cable, preferably something quite soft but yet with the 
necessary number of cores (6). I bought mine primarily for macro work 
but haven't given much thought to a macro lens yet - I think it will 
probably be the 50mm f2.5 since I very rarely need more than 1:2 
(flowers, etc.).
