I have to say that although the EOS 3 is tough, it's not as tough as an EOS 1n... The 
EOS 1n has an inner metal shell that makes it more impact resistant than the EOS 3. 
The 1-series also has redundant wiring all around, so if one wire comes off, the 
camera still works... But with taht said, the EOS 3 is plenty good enough for all but 
the hardcore photog who needs a camera/weapon...

I saw a toughness-demo of the 1V once... The Canon-rep dropped the body from 2+ meters 
onto a concrete floor, picked it up, bent the flash-shoe out again with a screwdriver 
(it had bent on impact), attached a 50/1.4 and did a full demo of what the camera 
could do... I allmost came on the spot... Too bad I couldn't afford it at the time 
(they sold brand new bodies at 25% off MSRP at the show)...
